Holly Madison Talks About Split from Hugh Hefner

UPDATE: Holly is now openly admitting that she is “in love” with Angel. Relationship now doomed.

Early last month, Holly Madison revealed through her MySpace page that she was in the process of moving out of the Playboy Mansion. Now the Girls Next Door star is opening up even more about her split from Hugh Hefner.

In an interview with Extra, the reality TV personality told fans of the show what most of us had suspected for a long time: she wasn’t really happy in her situation. “I’m just kind of sad about my breakup with Hef. I wish he would have seen it coming. Everybody was surprised when it happened because even though I was unhappy for a long time, the split happened suddenly… The signs were there. I was depressed for awhile, ” Madison claimed.

(Uhh, given her non-stop hints about kids and marriage…how could anyone really be shocked by her decision?)

And though Holly and her ex remain close (“We’re still best friends. I still call and check in on him almost every day”), the two have publicly moved on in their lives. Madison, who has been linked to Criss Angel for some time now, recently made a high-profile appearance at the illusionist’s Las Vegas opening. (His Cirque Du Soleil show, Believe, officially debuted last week.) Meanwhile, Hef - who also faces the loss Kendra and Bridget - has been seen spending more and more time with 19-year-old twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon.

So will Angel be the one who eventually gives Holly the things she’s been yearning for? Who knows? But it definitely sounds like they are enjoying each other’s company for now. At Believe‘s premiere, Criss talked to the media about the platinum blonde by his side. “This is one of the most special evenings for me in my life and I can not think of a more beautiful person, a more special person, inside and out, than Holly to spend it with.”

Well, so far the reviews for that relationship sound much better than the ones for his show…
