Christian Bale Apologizes for His F-Bomb Rant

Christian Bale is either the sincerest man around…or he’s a damn good actor. Either way, the man clearly knows how to apologize - or curse - with passion.
By now, most of you have heard the actor tear into Shane Hurlbut, Terminator Salvation‘s director of photography. (If you haven’t, you can hear the F-bomb filled clip after the jump.) The incident, which occurred last summer during filming of the sequel, was leaked to TMZ earlier this week.
After endless media coverage, and a few remixes, Bale called up a radio station earlier today to say sorry for the embarrassing incident.
Read More Now, unlike the non-apology Miley Cyrus produced recently, the mea culpa Bale delivered today seemed like the real deal. In that conversation with KROQ (it can be heard in its entirety here), Christian made no excuses for his behavior nor did he try to push off any of the blame to someone else. “The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. i was way out of order. I acted like a punk - I regret that. And there is nobody that has heard that tape that is harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it. It is inexcusable. and I hope that is absolutely clear,” Bale stated. He added, “The thing that disturbs me so much is that I’ve heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think that I’m better than anybody else. Nothing could be farther from the truth.” Although he had the opportunity to get angry about the fact that his privacy was violated, Bale refused to give himself an out. Instead, he continuously praised the film and its crew members. “Please, I’m asking people, do not allow my one time lapse in judgment…my incredibly embarrassing meltdown…to overshadow this movie and to have all those people’s hard work go to waste. It’s just too great a mythology to let that happen,” he pleaded. Before Christian signed off, he even allowed the DJs to continue ripping on him. “Feel free to make fun of me at my expense. I deserved it completely.” So after listening to his apology, let us know what you think. Do you think Christian seemed sincere? Will we forget all about this next week? Did his rant ever change your opinion about the film to begin with? Warning: This audio clip is filled with profanity.
