Thanks to Dave Coulier, one of music’s biggest mysteries has now been cleared up.

In an interview with the Calgary Herald, the Full House star addressed an ongoing rumor about his past relationship .

While it’s long been believed that Coulier was the subject of the angry song “You Oughta Know,” many (like me) found it hard to imagine that he could inspire such hatred. Apparently, Dave was surprised as well.

Coulier described what he thought when he first heard the tune in his car.

‘Wow, this girl is angry.’ And then I said, ‘Oh man, I think it’s Alanis.’ . . . I listened to the song over and over again, and I said, ‘I think I have really hurt this person.’ I tried to contact her and I finally got a hold of her. And at the same time, the press was calling and saying, ‘You want to comment on this song?’ I called her and I said, ‘Hi. Uh, what do you want me to say?’ And she said, ‘You can say whatever you want.’ We saw each other and hung out for an entire day. And it was beautiful. It was one of those things where it was kind of like, ‘We’re good.’ “

While I’m glad things are now good between Dave and Alanis, I’m weirdly bothered by this revelation. Seriously - what the heck did he do to her?
