UPDATE: Autopsy will not be officially completed until toxicology and tissue results return in several weeks.

Adam Goldstein, who survived a plane crash with Travis Barker last September, has been found dead.

The 36-year-old, who is better known as DJ AM, was discovered in his New York City apartment this evening by the police department. The authorities were asked to go to the home by a concerned friend who tried to do a welfare check. Goldstein had reportedly not been seen for several days.

Although a cause of death has not yet been determined, several sources claim that drug paraphernalia had been found at the scene.

In response to the news, Shanna Moakler, Barker’s ex, sent out her condolences via Twitter. “My deepest condolences for DJ AM, you were a great artist and will be severely missed. My thoughts and Prayers to his family and friends,” Shanna wrote.

Adam, who had been linked to both Mandy Moore and Nicole Richie, wrote this message on his own Twitter account two days ago: “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.”
