Drew Barrymore: Another Relationship in the Toilet

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long

Now I realized this was going to happen some day, I just didn’t think it was going to happen so soon….

Back in February, I predicted Drew Barrymore’s seemingly perfect relationship with her most recent boyfriend would eventually crash and burn. Why? Because she made the mistake of going public with it. And now, after about a year of dating, Drew and Justin Long are already over.

Earlier this year in an interview with Vogue, the actress got all gushy when the subject of Justin came up. “My cheeks hurt, I’m so happy.” Then in March, Barrymore brought her beau to the set of when she was there for a guest appearance. Although Drew was scheduled to talk about her charity work, her new romance (of course) became part of the conversation. (You can see that clip after the jump.)

The 33-year-old was still clearly smitten by the Live Free or Die Hard star and didn’t have any qualms telling the audience about her new “best friend.” “This relationship is great. It’s healthy and it’s productive and it’s supportive and it’s full of humor. We’re having an excellent time. We’re very, very fortunate.”

So Drew - if you were having such an “excellent time,” what the hell went wrong? Were you inflicted the Cameron Diaz Syndrome? Are you just attracted to losers, or are you the problem? How do you always manage to find yourself in one long-term relationship after the other?

According to a friend, the two “are still friends.” Well, let’s hope so. They still have a movie - He’s Just Not That Into You - to promote early next year.
