Family Tragedy for John Travolta and Kelly Preston

John Travolta and Kelly PrestonUPDATE #2: A family source has reported that a “seizure disorder” was the cause of death.

UPDATE: You can read the statement issued by the family here.

The new year has unfortunately started off tragically for and wife Kelly Preston.

According to Michael Ossi, a lawyer for the family, the 16-year-old son of the Hairspray star died today after suffering a seizure. The family had been at their vacation home in the Bahamas when the incident occurred.

Jett, the couple’s eldest child, had suffered from a history of seizures. His parents have stated that his developmental disability had been linked to Kawasaki disease. Coincidentally, the inflammatory disorder which can lead to heart attacks just got some media attention last week. The son of Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell was recently diagnosed with an atypical form of the disease. (Baylee has since been released from the hospital.)

John and Kelly, married since 1991, also have an 8-year-old daughter named Ella Bleu.

Comments:

My thoughts and prayers go out to John and his family. I know more about Kawasaki Disease since I looked it up after hearing about it on the news. I’m a Brian Littrell (BSB) fan for many years now and was worried about Brian’s son, Baylee. Learing that he had Kawasaki Disease, I didn’t know what to think. After hearing this about John’s son makes me a little more concerned. All of a sudden you are hearing about Kawasaki, to tell you the truth, I never heard about it in my life of 15 years until now. May God Bless the Travolta’s.
