Jessica Simpson Talks About Ex John Mayer

While I find it admirable when someone manages to talk kindly about their ex, I believe there comes a point when we all need to move on. I also think that one should limit the amount of information they divulge - especially when both parties are now involved with other people.

But Jessica Simpson apparently doesn’t share my beliefs, which is why she is (once again) openly talking about her beaus to the media. (Didn’t she almost freak out Tony the last time she got too serious?)

In the September issue of Elle, the new country singer couldn’t let her relationship with ex John Mayer stay in the past.

“John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within. He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else.”

(Am I the only one envisioning an eye roll from Jennifer Aniston right now? Did she really just talk about herself in the third person?)

As expected, Jessica also took time out to chat about the current man in her life. (She really needs to get all her Tony Romo talk out before the next football season begins.)

“Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart, but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. It’s the cutest thing, he’ll say, Jessica, 75% of the comments about your new single are favorable.”

Okay - time to cue my gag reflex now...
