Yesterday, we told you about the rumors concerning former Dancing with the Stars contestant Mario Lopez. According to a former Hooters calendar model, the Saved By the Bell star had been cheating on his girlfriend for almost a whole year. Well, wouldn’t you know it? Hours later, we got a special treat on Monday’s episode of Chelsea Lately: an appearance from Karina Smirnoff!

While she did not go into specifics, the professional dancer bravely addressed the gossip. Unfortunately, instead of using the forum to rail on her slimy ex (like I would have hoped), she did her best to talk calmly and rationally with Chelsea Handler about the breakup. She did, though, appear to validate the cheating report.

I must admit - while I’ve never been a fan of Smirnoff’s (I fully believe her eye-rolling will always keep her from that mirror ball trophy), she earned a few points in my book after last night’s interview. Not only was she personable, she was far less bitchy that she normally appears. But then again, she is single again…so maybe she was just trying to put her best foot forward.
