Katie Holmes Speaks Out On Public “Misperception”

In an upcoming issue of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Katie Holmes talks about her life and, of course, her very famous husband. In the piece, Holmes says that her public image is nothing like the truth.

“There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control of her life,” Holmes says, “and that’s pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I’ve made choices in my life that have been very strong.”

Katie’s printed interview isn’t available yet, but fans can see a five-minute video of Katie talking about her life on the magazine’s Web site.

Holmes doesn’t just talk about career with the mag, but also on Tom Cruise, 46. “When I met Tom I was completely in love and, yes, I admired him growing up - he’s Tom Cruise!” Katie enthuses in the interview. The two were married in 2006.

And if you want to hear his side of the story, Cruise also has an interview in the magazine and on the site. He says he was ready to marry Katie right away. “After our very first date, I was sure.”
