Mayer Talks About Aniston Split

Although he could have purposely left things vague, John Mayer made an unexpected move this weekend: He spoke to the media about Jennifer Aniston.

Up until recently, Mayer and his ex had decided to let their pictures do all of the talking. But the hounding photographers and the rumors of infidelity eventually forced the 30-year-old to crack.

And while I’m sure Jennifer wouldn’t have chosen to speak to a random paparazzo, she should be happy to know that the exasperated singer was frank, yet still kind.

Even though he considered the Friends star to be “the smartest, most sophisticated person” he had probably ever met, John said he didn’t feel comfortable about continuing things with the “lovely” woman.

“I ended a relationship to be alone because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right.”

He also denied that any drama contributed to the end of their 4-month relationship. It simply ran its course.

“There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing.”

Nothing? Nothing? How could you possibly leave us on this anti-climactic note?
