Star Jones Responds to Barbara Walters’ Comments

Like Barbara said, Jones was in complete control of how she wanted to be perceived by the viewers.  Even though she still refused to talk about her drastic weight loss, Star could have still exited the daytime talker on a graceful note.  Unfortunately, she was the one who chose to make things ugly in the end.  And now she has just driven another nail into her own PR coffin.

And now, almost two years later, Barbara still refuses to say openly that the two don’t get along.  She was kind enough to put on a smile and do her best to talk warmly about her former employee.  But sadly, the soon-to-be divorced lawyer couldn’t do the same thing in return.

When asked by Us Weekly to respond to Walters’ comments, Jones said:

“It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book.  It speaks to her true character.”

Ouch!  Well at least that woman “in the sunset of her life” still has a job....
