Tom Brady might not be able to play football right now, but the New England Patriot has no problem getting down on bended knee.

Although it was recently rumored that the quarterback and his supermodel girlfriend were engaged, the Super Bowl champ just proposed to Gisele Bundchen, 28, this weekend. The two started dating back in 2006, shortly after Brady, 31, broke up with actress Bridget Moynahan. (The Sex and the City star later gave birth to Tom’s son in August 2007.)

According to People sources, the couple has already begun the wedding talk and that initial plans “are being planned by Bündchen and her closest friends this week.”

Could there be a reason for the flurry of activity? Hmmm…?
