Over the weekend, the Daily Mail caused a stir when they announced that Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal would soon be married. According to the British paper, The Prince of Persia star reportedly told friends he was getting married sometime around his birthday (December 19).

“He told me he had proposed several times but she kept telling him she wanted to give their relationship more time. When he asked her again a couple of weeks ago, she finally said yes,” said the source.

Unfortunately, the lovebirds dashed our hopes when they quickly denied the nuptial news. In a statement given to People, reps for both stars said the story was simply a rumor. “They are not engaged, getting married or any of the reports.”

Okay - so while I wait for Ryan and Rachel to reunite, could someone please make sure to get these two moving along?
