Paris Hilton spent her birthday in hospital with her boyfriend.
The reality TV star celebrated turning 31 on Sunday by hitting the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe, California with partner River Viiperi, but the celebratory occasion soon turned sour as the 21-year-old male model ended up hospitalised after a scary skiing accident.
"Just got out of the hospital with @RiverViiperi. He was doing a high jump while skiing & the ski sliced in to his leg! 19 stitches! Oww! (sic)" she wrote on Twitter.
The blonde beauty played the doting girlfriend as she sat by her boyfriend's hospital bedside, but admitted that she "almost passed out" after seeing the nasty cut on his leg. "Such a scary day on the slopes today. After seeing the gash on @RiverViiperi's leg, I almost passed out. I have never seen a cut that deep in my life. He is so brave, I can't even imagine the pain he went through today. (sic)" she continued.

Taylor Swift Planning ‘Romantic’ Trip with Harry Styles

Taylor Swift is planning to take Harry Styles out on a yacht on the French Riviera this weekend.
The 23-year-old singer wants to have some "private romantic time" with the 18-year-old star ahead of his 19th birthday next Friday as part of the first steps of the pair getting back together following their split earlier this month.
Taylor and Harry are expected to seal their reunion at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes this Sunday - where One Direction are nominated for International Group of the Year - and a source revealed the blonde beauty wants "no expense to be spared" when she whisks Harry away. "The lads are planning to hang out together enjoying Cannes - and they also want to get to Paris. But Taylor is desperately trying to make arrangements for her and Harry to slip away and have private romantic time. She has got a boat on standby ready for them to sneak off. Taylor thought a boat would be the perfect getaway as photographers can't follow them," an insider said.

Jada Pinkett Smith Never Thought She’d Reach 40

Jada Pinkett Smith thought she'd be dead by the age of 21.
The Madagascar 3 star - who raises Trey, 19, Jaden, 14, and 11-year-old Willow with husband Will Smith - admits turning 40 in September 2011 was "surreal" because she grew up in such a tough neighbourhood, she never expected to live so long.
"I grew up in a drug-infested neighborhood where you walk out each day and you just hope that you make it. I came from a war zone. There was a possibility that I wouldn't make it past 21 - that was the reality. When I turned 40 it was a surreal moment because I had never imagined reaching 40. I looked at my husband and said, 'Oh my God, I'm 40! What am I going to do now?' So yes, it does put things in perspective."
Jada - who was raised by her drug-addicted mother Adrienne and grandmother Marion - is thankful her own children don't have the upbringing she had and she has no idea how she would cope if she were in her mother's situation:

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Fears About Turning 40

Gwyneth Paltrow was terrified about turning 40.
The actress - who has two children Apple, eight and six-year-old Moses with husband Chris Martin, 35 - admitted she was not looking forward to reaching the milestone age on September 27 but now that her birthday is over she feels "happy and content."
"I was really worried about it, leading up to the day, but now I feel really happy and content with my life. I'm excited to move into the next phase. It's much more exciting than I thought it would be. I think I try to promote self-growth and reflection for myself every day," she told Us Weekly.
Although she is an Academy Award winning actress with a rock star husband, Gwyneth insisted they are no different to any other family: "We have a scrimmage soccer game in our yard every day after school. It's so fun. Though Moses prefers soccer, Apple has been really loving gymnastics. I feel that mental happiness and physical happiness are so closely related, and especially for kids, because they have so much energy."
Nicki Minaj splashed out $70,000 on a toy sports car for Lil Wayne's birthday. The American Idol judge - who is signed to the rapper's Young Money label - bought him a Campagna T-Rex 14R, a toy two-seater motorcycle-car hybrid, that usually costs $50,000 and added some pricey extras, according to TMZ. She then had the gift delivered to Lil Wayne's birthday bash in Hollywood on Thursday, where he was celebrating turning 30.
Wayne and Nicki are close friends, and earlier this year he pulled her out of the Summer Jam Concert when radio DJ Peter Rosenberg slighted her track "Starships."

Salma Hayek can be a pushy mother. The Savages actress used to think she was a "laid back" mom until she had a party for her daughter Valentina - who turned five today - and found she was pushing through crowds of children to make sure her little girl had a candy.
"I make an effort to be laid back and often I want to giver her space, and then I catch myself doing things. In Paris I had a birthday party with a pinata with kids, who were Mexican, they were boys and they were older. She was really concerned she wouldn't be able to take a candy when the pinata broke. I said, 'Don't worry.' When the pinata broke, she couldn't get in, I was pushing them, trying to get in. And then I caught myself and I thought, 'I've turned into one of those mothers!' I moved away. I think I'm a bit of both. I think we all are," she said.
Despite Valentina being the daughter of an Oscar-nominated actress and a billionaire father - French fashion mogul Francois Henri Pinault - Salma thinks her offspring wants to become a gymnast because of the London Olympics. "She's into the gymnastics because of the Olympics. It's amazing how she points her toes, like a little bird or something. She's doing it every day," she added.

Will Arnett attended estranged wife Amy Poehler's 41st birthday party over the weekend.
The Blades of Glory couple recently announced they were separating after nine years of marriage, but insisted the split was amicable and Will proved that by turning up at the bash on Sunday. The actor arrived with the couple's two sons, Archie, three, and two-year-old Abel, at the party in Hollywood and insiders say things were very civil between the former couple.
Despite their decision to part ways, an insider close to the pair say the comedians "have a lot of respect for each other" and "there's still love between them." Speaking about their relationship in 2007, Amy said, "People think we sit around and make each other laugh and stuff. But we're real homebodies."

Kanye West has splashed out over one million dollars on Kim Kardashian's 32nd birthday.
The reality TV star will celebrate her big day next month and her rapper boyfriend is so determined to make it extra special that he has arranged a private island vacation and bought her some special designer gifts.
"Kim has been really down about turning 32 and having two failed marriages behind her and no children, so he wants to make this extra-special. Plus it's her first birthday since they've been together as a couple. Kanye has never been shy of splashing out on the women he loves, but this time he's pulling out all the stops with presents," a source told The Sun.
Kanye has also arranged for them to travel to Pine Cay, a private island in the Turks and Caicos group of islands in the West Indies with a group of their friends where he will throw a huge birthday bash for Kim. Designer gifts include a made-to-order special edition Prada bag, lined in a 'KK' print, a diamond bracelet and a Chanel dress.

The 26-year-old actress reportedly had a public meltdown and was asked to leave Hollywood hotspot Bootsy Bellows when she refused to share the V.I.P. area with Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca.
"Francesca was celebrating her birthday with around a dozen friends in a private area when Lindsay came over and started screaming that Francesca should leave. She was yelling, 'I'm a star, she's a nobody, get her out of here!' One poor guy came over and tried to calm [Lindsay] down and she acted aggressively. At that point the security told her to leave and it was totally embarrassing. She is acting like some bad 80s film star, and it is hard to watch because she needs help," one onlooker told Us Weekly.
The troubled starlet left the venue in a rage after her showdown with the E! reality star and almost caused a scene outside as she zoomed off in a friend's car. "Lindsay's friend was driving and they sped out and almost hit one of the valet guys," a party-goer said.

The Modern Family actress and the businessman - who got back together last month after splitting up in May following a series of arguments - have got engaged as the brunette beauty celebrates her 40th birthday in Mexico, a source has confirmed to Us Weekly.
"They have a crazy relationship. They break up and make up. They fight and make up hard!" a source said.
Sofia - who turned 40 today - has been celebrating the milestone at a Mexican resort over the past few days alongside 90 loved ones, and she has was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger yesterday. The brunette star previously married Joe Gonzalez - with whom she has a son, Manolo, 20 - in 1991 but the pair divorced in 1993.
Sofia and Nick have been dating for more than two years after meeting at a Golden Globes party in 2010, and following their split last month she is said to have moved into a hotel, but friends admitted at the time that they were unsure the separation would be permanent.
