Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed List

Celebrity Fashion Trend: The Orange Dress

Since orange just currently happens to be my favorite color, it’s no coincidence that two of my favorite looks from this week are orange red-carpet dresses.

While it’s not an easy shade to wear, I think that Blake Lively (at the The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 premiere) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (at Japan’s Dark Knight premiere) both pulled the hue off beautifully.

Kate Hudson vs. Claire Danes: Battle of the Skinnies

Up until recently, I would have said that Kate Hudson was one of the skinniest actresses in America. (Notice I said America, because otherwise Keira Knightley would easily have her beat).

But then I saw Claire Danes.

I’ve always been told that black was a slimming color, but apparently red does a pretty good job as well.

Place Your Bid on Britney Spears’ Clothes

Interested in owning something from Britney Spears‘ heydey? If so, this upcoming auction might be for you.

The online site Gotta Have It! will be hosting an event later this month featuring memorabilia from a list of iconic artists. Amongst the items offered in the Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction will be a jumpsuit worn by Elvis and a filled-out day planner of Madonna‘s (written in during her Sean Penn years). Several articles of clothing from Britney will also be up for grabs.

Some of Spears’ pieces include:

• A t-shirt from her Mickey Mouse Club era. The tee - later given to her grandmother - has Spears’ autograph along with Justin Timberlake‘s, Keri Russell’s and Christina Aguilera’s.
• Outfits from two of her concert tours.
• A blue-and-white outfit worn for a Christmas Pepsi campaign.

Bidding will start on July 21 with all proceeds going to charity. More information about the event can be found here.

San Francisco Welcomes David Beckham’s Sexy Ad

Last night, the ladies and gents of San Francisco got front row seats to the most appealing thing ever seen at Macy’s.

The Emporio Armani banner - featuring David Beckham in the brand’s underwear - unfurled in front of a large group of gawkers who had no immediate plans to purchase the product...and probably never will. But that’s so nice of Armani to try anyway.

Jessica Simpson’s Fashion Dis

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson was recently caught out and about by the paparazzi wearing a controversial T-shirt. By using the message on her shirt, is Simpson sending a message of her own?

The T boldly proclaims “Real Girls Eat Meat,” a little non-vegetarian humor to combat the popularity of Ts with messages like “Meat is Murder,” no doubt. But perhaps this bit of humor goes much deeper than an affection for char-broiled burgers.

Simpson just so happens to be currently dating Tony Romo, who is the ex-boyfriend of famous vegetarian Carrie Underwood. The American Idol winner has been very vocal about her nutritional leanings, named “sexiest vegetarian” by PETA twice. When viewed from the perspective of relationship history, Simpson’s shirt suddenly takes on a whole new connotation...doesn’t it?

The press seems to think so. Today, Jessica’s shirt is appearing on entertainment sites all across the Internet. One unnamed source is reported as saying “Jess is sick of hearing about how Tony still has feelings for Carrie. She’s obviously trying to poke fun at her rival and let her know who really has Tony’s heart.”
