Lynne SpearsSarah Palin

, mother to Britney and Jamie Lynn, has been making the media rounds to promote her book “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” but she has a few things to say about politics and teen pregnancy, too. This celebrity mom isn’t afraid to use her turn in the spotlight to talk about touchy subjects, and how she compares (or doesn’t) to potential Vice President Sarah Palin.

In an interview with Newsweek, Spears sounds off about the difference in the way the media covered two somewhat similar stories: and Bristol Palin, 17, pregnant and unwed.

Jessica Simpson

Many tuned in this weekend to watch MTV’s VMAs, which rewards popular artists for their innovation in a genre MTV only barely still supports - the music video. But while many artists are trying to find their feet in an ever-changing pop world, is clinging to the traditions of country music.

If her dress, hair style and eye-grabbing cleavage don’t remind you of Dolly Parton, nothing will. Jess strutted onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for her much-anticipated Nashville debut - and today most of the critics are talking much more about her chest and much less about her choice of song.

Paris fights back at McCain's ad

John McCain and Barack Obama have taken on many issues, policies, and politicians in their day, yet I’m not sure that they can handle what has come next for them. In fact, they just might want to team up to take on this very powerful common enemy that has ostentatiously made herself known: Paris Hilton.

The infamous heiress recently released a spoof video (seen after the jump) as a response to John McCain’s recent political ad, in which Paris makes an unauthorized appearance. I would, too, if my family donated a few million dollars to his campaign and my face ended up in his commercial without my consent!

In the video, Paris pokes fun of the “wrinkly” senator as well as his opponent and herself, suggesting that she run for president and paint the White House pink, among other things.

Ryan Seacrest gets bit by a shark!Even though I’m quite guilty of refreshing the E! Online site every five minutes or so, I felt utterly compelled to share a story that they actually consider noteworthy.

The short article centers about none other than their very own, multi-talented, workaholic Ryan Seacrest. Earlier today on his Los Angeles KIIS FM talk show, the American Idol host recalled his recent weekend “shark scare” with listeners: “I was bitten by a shark. It swam up to me, and it took a bite, and then he left.”

As if this couldn’t get even more exciting, Ryan revealed that the “predator” was about the size of a cat and that the incident occurred a whopping four feet from the shore.

Unsure of whether the writer’s sarcasm was lost to me on their site or not, Peter Gicas ends the news flash with a near-mocking “Proof positive that nothing—even a fanged fish—can keep our man down.” Thanks a lot for nothing, Mr. Jaws.

Miley: Million-dollar writer?Sick of yet? Disney sure isn’t.

Having already conquered the small screen and broken box office records for the big screen, the uber-successful pop star has recently signed a seven-figure deal with Disney-Hyperion, probably the most any fifteen year-old has been paid to write a book.

As if Disney hasn’t used and abused their cash cow enough, the book is set to release in 2009, right about when the movie will premiere. Oh how I love Disney’s avariciousness.

Katharine McPheeBuxom Idol contestant Katharine McPhee was dropped from her record label, but apparently reality roots run deep. Judge will help McPhee get back in the limelight with a new track on his album, where she’ll be paired with fellow Idol alum Elliott Yamin.

Okay, so I’ve heard the song...and it’s crap. Repetitive, boring, and throughout one can hear McPhee making strange, nonsensical noises. It’s called “Real Love,” one of the most uninspired titles I’ve heard, and the audio is currently making the rounds on the Internet. I warn you - don’t listen.

Put-Description-HereIn an interview appearing in the March issue of Glamour magazine, talks about her party girl image, getting back to work and how she’s trying to rid her life of bad influences.

“There are friends that have been hard to hang out with because they’ve gone done a different path,” the actress, 21, says in her first interview since being in rehab. “But it’s hard because I’m the kind of person who wants to trust everyone.”

Lohan also expresses empathy for and and insists that she’s comfortable with her own company--to a point.

“I’m fine being alone during the day, but I hate being alone at night. I like having friends around me, but now I’d much rather be at home,” she says, pointing out that she now suddenly has more hours of the day to fill, which she tries to do by writing in her journal and watching TV.

“That’s not to say I’ll never go to a club again,” she says, “because I’d be lying.”

Paris Hilton crying was caught crying at a party, and it had nothing to do with the ’ bitter defeat.

Hilton hosted the pre-Super Bowl bash in Arizona last week and was dancing in front of partygoers. But when , the party guest of honor, showed up, things got ugly.

Paris attempted to dance on stage with the rapper, who was unfortunately having none of it. 50 Cent shouted “Get the F--K off my stage.” Paris then broke down in tears, crying to a party planner “but it’s my party.”

PageSix.com reports that several members of Hilton’s entourage swarmed paparazzi at the party, but weren’t able to stop photos of Hilton tearing up from being taken. The site also reports that Hilton and 50 Cent still remain friends after the incident.
