UPDATE: Robinson has reportedly entered a “tentative guilty plea” in court. This will allow him 18 months to complete a drug counseling program.
Believe it or not, a Hollywood-related arrest can go unnoticed for quite some time.
According to TMZ, Craig Robinson, one of the star’s of Pineapple Express, was pulled over back in June after committing a traffic violation. After searching the vehicle, the actor was subsequently arrested for drug possession.
Robinson, who also plays Darryl in The Office, has since been charged by the L.A County D.A.’s office for possession of meth and ecstasy and being under the influence of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabinoids.
Coincidentally, this news comes shortly after Shelley Malil, an actor who starred in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend. Should we now start blaming these two incidents on the Curse of Steve Carell?

For a man who seems to shun celebrity, John McCain certainly has been in the media a lot lately - and little of the coverage has to do with his policy or his plans for the country. The republican will now get more attention for a wholly different reason…he’s being sued.
McCain’s political strategy, thus far, has been to undermine presidential competitor Barack Obama by calling him that dirtiest of all words - a celebrity. In the ads, McCain shows clips of Obama with his adoring public while the Jackson Browne hit “Running on Empty” plays in the background. Here’s the problem: McCain never got permission to use the song.

Ed McMahon’s foreclosure troubles are finally coming to a close - and not in the way any of us expected. When the aging star announced his financial problems might soon leave him homeless, the world was shocked and dismayed. But, Ed, you used to announce Johnny Carson! Thanks to multi-millionaire Donald Trump, McMahon can continue kicking golf balls around his property - and the bank can stop breathing down his neck.
The Donald will purchase the McMahon home, circumventing foreclosure and keeping Ed in the style to which he has become accustomed - and the two didn’t even have to get married first. “I don’t know the man, but I grew up watching him on TV,” Trump told the media.

After nearly living a month with the heavy shadow of family assault allegations over his head, Christian Bale and his fans can sleep a little better tonight—police authorities have announced that they will not be charging him.
In a statement released earlier today, Crown Prosecution Service said,
“We can today confirm that we have advised the Metropolitan Police Service that the actor Christian Bale should not face any charges. [There was] insufficient evident to afford a realistic prospect of conviction… the police have been advised that no further action should be taken against Mr. Bale.”
This serves plenty of vindication for The Dark Knight star, who has denied the allegations from the very beginning. We knew that Batman would never hurt his mom!

Parole Denied for John Lennon’s Killer

It was nearly three decades ago when legendary songwriter/singer/musician John Lennon was gunned down in front of his apartment building in New York City. This week, Lennon’s killer was denied parole for the fifth time.
The parole request was denied this time, as it has been denied in the past, “due to concern for the public safety and welfare.” Lennon’s killer was sentenced to twenty years to life by the state of New York. The murder took place on December 8, 1980.
Lennon’s killer will not be named in this article, per the request of former Beatle (and Lennon’s songwriting partner) Paul McCartney and Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono. When John Lennon was shot and killed, the two asked in a joint statement that the killer’s name never be repeated or printed. To do so would only give him the notoriety which he sought.

UPDATE: During Wednesday’s arraignment, the judge raised Malil’s bail to $10 million.
Shelley Malil, an actor who appeared in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, was arrested yesterday after allegedly stabbing his ex this weekend.
Malil was picked up after late Monday after departing a train in Oceanside, CA. He was preparing to meet with his lawyer at the request of his family.
According to the San Diego Sheriffs Office, police responded to a home in the San Marcos area after callers reported hearing screams for help. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been stabbed up to 20 times. The victim was transported to Palomar Hospital where she was last listed in critical condition.
A local television station reports that the attack happened after Shelley found the woman talking in her backyard with another man. (That person was also stabbed in the hand while trying to help.) Two children were in the home during the incident.

Paris Hilton Takes On John McCain

John McCain and Barack Obama have taken on many issues, policies, and politicians in their day, yet I’m not sure that they can handle what has come next for them. In fact, they just might want to team up to take on this very powerful common enemy that has ostentatiously made herself known: Paris Hilton.
The infamous heiress recently released a spoof video (seen after the jump) as a response to John McCain’s recent political ad, in which Paris makes an unauthorized appearance. I would, too, if my family donated a few million dollars to his campaign and my face ended up in his commercial without my consent!
In the video, Paris pokes fun of the “wrinkly” senator as well as his opponent and herself, suggesting that she run for president and paint the White House pink, among other things.

As celebrities like Eric Roberts, John Mayer, and Milo Ventimiglia pushed for a crack down on paparazzi laws earlier this week, LAPD Chief William Bratton shared his true feelings about the paparazzi to reporters:
“If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue.”
Despite whether it’s true or not, Lindsay wasn’t too happy with the police chief’s remark, stating that “Police chiefs shouldn’t get involved in everyone else’s business when it comes to their personal life. It’s inappropriate.”
Surprisingly, I’d have to agree with her for once. At the same time, one can argue that she is one of the major contributing factors (along with Britney and Paris) in the rise of crazed paparazzi, yet Bratton, in my opinion, really had no right to say what he did as a police official.

After spending a few days cooped up at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Shia LaBeouf has finally left his confines for a smoke break, which was more than enough for the paparazzi to snag a few photos of him post-surgery.
Hollywood’s leading man has been quite the center of attention since he and his costar Isabel Lucas were involved in an accident early Sunday morning.

What is up with the women in Zac Efron’s life? First, Vanessa Hudgens embarrasses herself with her nude photos. Now Zac’s on-screen lady, Nikki Blonsky, has just gotten herself in trouble with the law!
According to Us Weekly, the Hairspray star was arrested after getting into a fight at an airport. Interestingly enough, the brawl also involved Blonsky’s father and Bianca Golden’s family. Who’s Bianca Golden? Why she’s the short-haired beauty who placed fourth on America’s Top Model 9.
Wednesday’s incident in Turks and Caicos supposedly started after Nikki tried saving seats for her family in the airport’s lounge. This somehow lead to the confrontation with the Golden family. When the fight ended, both women wound up being charged with assault. Blonsky’s father was also charged with “grievous bodily harm” for allegedly attacking Bianca’s mother.
Both Nikki (who was just seen sporting a neck brace) and Bianca are currently out on bail while Carl Blonsky currently remains behind bars for a few more days. All parties will eventually have to return to the area for a court appearance.
