What do Barack Obama and Britney Spears have in common? They both have plans to deliver their own message in separate primetime specials.

To help promote her sixth album (and to show the world that she’s finally back on track), will open up her life for an upcoming MTV documentary. The feature - titled Britney: For the Record - will give fans behind-the-scenes access into the pop star’s life. Shot over a three-month period, the 90-minute piece includes video of Spears in the recording studio and preparing for the VMAs.

In the doc (which can be previewed after the jump), the revamped 26-year-old will also candidly address the craziness from the past couple of years. Britney hopes this special will allow her to tell her side of the stories.

Beyonce Knowles

For the November issue of Essence magazine, singer Beyonce Knowles finally opens up about her April wedding to Jay-Z.

In the interview, Knowles explains why she was against a big traditional wedding ("It’s been my day so many days already") and why she didn’t want an engagement ring:

“People put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material and it’s just silly to me.”

Uhhh....is this coming from the same person currently sporting a $5 million dollar ring?

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas

What never officially existed is now apparently over. Attention tweens of the world— is now back on the market.

According to Us Weekly, the Jonas Brothers performer and his country singer girlfriend are now over. Sources claim the 19-year-old broke up with last Friday over the phone.

Back in August, the couple were seen double-dating with Nick Jonas and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez. The two (as pictured above) even sat next to each other - in public - at the 2008 Video Music Awards.

While I’m sure Swift could easily find another man soon, Joe supposedly broke the 18-year-old’s heart. Sounds like good material for a new album!

Sometimes pictures - or massive pieces of jewelry - really do speak louder than words.

Even though Beyonce and Jay-Z have not yet acknowledged their April nuptials, the Dreamgirls star has slowly been confirming the news her own way.

In the past few weeks, the singer has occasionally been seen with a very large rock on her ring finger. The flawless 18 carat gem - designed by Lorraine Schwartz - is valued at a whopping $5 million.

I guess someone won’t be needing to worry about the financial crisis anytime soon.

Although it’s been almost a month since he was detained at LAX, does not appear he’s about to get past that incident anytime soon.

Back on September 11 (a horrible date for any airport arrest), the musician and his road manager were both arrested for damaging a photographer’s equipment. Although West has since been cleared of a felony charge (he only destroyed a relatively inexpensive lighting component), he could still be slapped with a misdemeanor. (It’s unclear what charges his partner-in-crime might still be dealing with.)

Needless to say, Kanye wasn’t entirely thrilled about being questioned recently by another paparazzo:

Janet Jackson in concert

UPDATE: Janet’s tour will reportedly resume this Saturday.

An undisclosed illness has now caused to cancel a total of 6 concert dates in less than two weeks.

Last Sunday, the singer fell suddenly ill during a sound check in Montreal. After a brief hospitalization, stops in Boston and Philadelphia were called off.

Although Janet was preparing to resume her tour on this weekend, Jackson’s doctor advised the 42-year-old to take more time to recuperate. In addition to Saturday’s gig in Greensboro, N.C., Sunday’s concert in Atlanta and Tuesday’s date in Fort Lauderdale were also postponed.

Kevin CostnerWhat do you do when your movie career fizzles? Well - if you’re Jessica Simpson , you turn to country music.

Kevin, who was last seen in , recently told People that he will be releasing a country album next month.

While this might seem like surprising news to most Costner followers, the 53-year-old has been moonlighting as a musician for quite some time now. In fact, some of his Modern West band members have been working with him for nearly 20 years. (Not that this qualifies them to sell any tracks or anything.)

The album - which Kevin co-wrote six songs for - is due out on November 11. Assuming the actor doesn’t line up any other acting gigs (he just recently wrapped work on The New Daughter), the band will be out touring by the end of this year. Expect the ladies of to feign interest shortly.

Madonna

Although most women would kill to look even half as good as at age 50, the singer often takes her exercise regime to the extreme.

What do you think? Would you consider her muscular physique to be an attractive feature...or does she ironically appear older than she should?

For today’s installment, we have Australian actress Sophie Monk (a.k.a. Benji Madden’s ex-fiancee on the left) and Dixie Chicks’ on the right.

DJ AM at Chris Barker Funeral

Three days after being released from the hospital, DJ AM (a.k.a. Adam Goldstein) attended the funeral for Chris Baker. Baker, one of the four victims from September 20’s crash, was Travis Barker’s close friend and assistant.

Although Goldstein’s burns were mostly covered, injuries to his neck were still visible underneath his green polo. (The attendees were asked to wear Chris’ favorite color to Monday’s service.)

Travis, who was also released from the Georgia hospital yesterday, was unfortunately not able to pay his respects his person. The former Blink-182 drummer, who now (understandably) refuses to fly, is currently en route back to LA via a bus.
