Over the past month, Nick has done his best to dodge questions referring to Selena Gomez, the star of Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Meanwhile, older brother Joe has had his name associated with rising country star Taylor Swift. (She appears in the boy band’s upcoming concert movie.)

Jessica Simpson vs. Carrie Underwood

In a recent interview, famous American Idol Carrie Underwood stated that ex-boyfriend Tony Romo still calls her up from time to time. “The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer,” Underwood stated.

After Romo and Underwood split in 2006, the Cowboy moved on to once-pop princess-now country gal Jessica Simpson, who took a fashion dig at Underwood by wearing a T that stated “Real Girls Eat Meat.” Now, the cattiness continues.

In response to Underwood’s statement that Romo still calls her, Simpson stated that she “looked at his call log,” and that Underwood’s words are untrue.

Whoa. While many suspicious girlfriends keep tabs of phone calls made to and by their men, it’s not the kind of thing you want to get caught doing - and it’s not the kind of thing you want to admit to the press, either. Looks like Jess is keeping tight tabs on her man - and she doesn’t care who knows it.

Is Hilary Duff Engaged?

Can you believe how quickly time has flown by? It seems just like yesterday that Hilary Duff and Joel Madden were still an item. Now, the Good Charlotte musician is celebrating parenthood with Nicole Richie. Meanwhile, Duff might have a bit of celebrating of her own to do.

Based on appearances Friday night, it looks like rumors about the pop star’s engagement might actually be true. Hilary, who was out with her Canadian hockey player beau, was spotted outside Il Sole with an interesting piece of bling on her ring finger.

When asked directly about a possible betrothal, the 20-year-old simply smiled while trying to dodge the photographers’ questions. (You can see that video after the jump.) Mike Comrie, 27, didn’t attempt to clear the matter up either.

All I can say is - thank God she (and Lindsay) both moved on from Aaron Carter. Does anyone even remember why those two even liked him to begin with?

British Authorities Will Not Charge Christian Bale

After nearly living a month with the heavy shadow of family assault allegations over his head, Christian Bale and his fans can sleep a little better tonight—police authorities have announced that they will not be charging him.

In a statement released earlier today, Crown Prosecution Service said,

“We can today confirm that we have advised the Metropolitan Police Service that the actor Christian Bale should not face any charges. [There was] insufficient evident to afford a realistic prospect of conviction… the police have been advised that no further action should be taken against Mr. Bale.”

This serves plenty of vindication for The Dark Knight star, who has denied the allegations from the very beginning. We knew that Batman would never hurt his mom!

Lindsay Lohan Addresses Rumors About Her Sister’s Body

As Anderson Cooper pointed out last week, Lindsay Lohan has been fairly quiet when it comes to matters involving Living Lohan. But don’t start equating her silence to indifference. Even though she’s been focusing most of her attention on Samantha Ronson, Lindsay still has time to defend her little sister.

When rumors started spreading about Ali Lohan’s seemingly larger chest, Lindsay didn’t just pick up the phone and chew someone out Dina Lohan-style. No, she chose to air her complaints in a less confrontational matter. She eloquently ranted on MySpace!

In an interview with the Calgary Herald, the Full House star addressed an ongoing rumor about his past relationship Alanis Morissette.

While it’s long been believed that Coulier was the subject of the angry song “You Oughta Know,” many (like me) found it hard to imagine that he could inspire such hatred. Apparently, Dave was surprised as well.

Are John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston Already Over?

Okay, let’s get a pool started now. Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson or Jennifer Aniston. Which of these ladies do you think will settle down first?

When John Mayer was spotted vacationing in Mexico last week, many questioned his girlfriend-less trip. Now it looks like we have our explanation: Mayer and Aniston recently called it quits.

Although things appeared to be going well since their April debut, sources tell People the two were simply on different tracks. “They had a great time together but they are just in different places in their lives right now.”

The Daily Mirror adds that it was the 30-year-old singer who initiated the break-up. “John took the decision to end things as he felt he just wasn’t ready for the level of commitment that Jennifer deserved,” claims a source. (I guess he really didn’t cherish their love.)

Is there a chance of a reunion? Possibly. Aniston and Mayer are reportedly still in contact. And given Mayer’s prolonged ending with Jessica Simpson (somewhere, she’s laughing right now), I wouldn’t be surprised to see them eating privately again soon.

If you believe the buzz, we could be seeing an addition to The Girls Next Door next season. Word has it Hugh Hefner may have gotten bored with his little trio and taken a liking to a new beauty. The surprising twist? The gal’s actually a brunette.

According to the various reports, the fourth woman in Hugh’s life is Dasha Astafieva, a Ukranian model who may actually have real breasts. (Shocker!) Some sources claim Dasha is already living inside the Playboy Mansion, while others say that hasn’t happened...yet.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson Get Matching Tattoos

Samantha Ronson and “best friend” Lindsay Lohan were seen arriving at LAX with matching tattoos last Wednesday. While some may see this as innocent and very BFF-like, I hope that the party-hopping pair haven’t forgotten that we haven’t forgotten about what happened on Diddy’s yacht last May.

Either way, the cute couple were spotted with identical black hearts on their left hands. No pictures just yet, but photographers did note that the heart was originally a white heart tattoo of Lindsay’s that she recently got outlined in black—Samantha merely had an identical one inked in the same spot altogether. They also noticed that Lindsay added a red star to her hand to mirror those on Ronson’s arm.

Why don’t these two go public already! Just make it official and we’ll all be happy! Who knows, perhaps even the paparazzi will stop tailing you once they’ve finally received an answer to their burning question.

Brangelina Shoos Johnny Depp Out of France

When Johnny Depp ran to France to escape the paparazzi, I’m sure he never would have imagined having to leave his tranquil paradise. Unfortunately, the very private Pirates of the Caribbean star has come to face this nightmare upon Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s recent move to the beautiful country, which forced many of their die-hard paparazzo to follow suit.

Judging by recent pictures taken of the former heartthrob, I would say that it’s safe to say that he is upset at the large influx of cameras around southern France.

His solution? Pack up and move to England!
