Some people purchase food at the grocery store, others pick up their future wives.

It’s just been announced that actor Michael Vartan is now officially off the market. The 41-year-old became engaged to a woman he met last year at a Whole Foods parking lot in Los Angeles.

The former Alias star proposed to 25-year-old Lauren Skaar two weeks ago. According to Michael’s rep, the two intend to get married next year.

Vartan can currently be seen on TNT’s Hawthorne. That series is scheduled to return sometime this summer.

Jesse James Publicly Apologizes to Sandra Bullock, Kids

Although he had been quick take down his Twitter page, Jesse James has made his first public comment since rumors of a possible affair surfaced.

In the statement offered to People magazine, Sandra Bullock’s husband acknowledged being the “one person to blame for whole situation,” but also called “the vast majority” of allegations against him “untrue and unfounded.”

Thank goodness Oprah’s already been schooled (or so we think).

Jesse James Accused of Cheating, Sandra Bullock Moves Out

Oh dear - the “Curse of the Best Actress” may have just struck again.

Although he was continuously praised by wife Sandra Bullock during the recent awards season (see above), it appears Jesse James might not have had her back after all.

Earlier today, reports of infidelity made its way through the gossip mill thanks to a report in In Touch Weekly. According to tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, she and Jesse were intimate during the time Bullock was away filming The Blind Side.

McGee, who claims she was lead to believe the two were no longer together, said the affair started after she sent a friend request to James’ business, West Coast Choppers. “He started saying, ‘Do you want to hang out?’” she told the magazine.

Corey Feldman to Host Public Memorial for Corey Haim

“Due to their strong religious beliefs, and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s [Haim] funeral on Tuesday a small, private affair,” Corey Feldman offered this statement to the media today. “I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning,” he said of his own plans. “As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice.”

The public will get their chance to bid the star goodbye, Hollywood-style. Feldman plans to prepare a second memorial service for his friend. “At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy [Corey Haim] has left behind, along with friends, fans, and the rest of the Hollywood community.”

David Beckham Injured: Out of World Cup

UPDATE: David Beckham tore his Achilles tendon during Sunday’s match and was taken to surgery the following Monday night. Beckham’s surgeon said the athlete will need to heal for at least six months, so there will be no World Cup for Becks this year. After rehabilitation, Beckham should be able to continue playing soccer.

According to breaking new from TMZ, soccer star David Beckham tore his Achilles tendon on Sunday. The injury could affect his attendance of the 2010 World Cup, a highly-anticipated global sporting event. We’ll bring you updates on the story as it develops.

UPDATE: One report claims Kate Winslet left Mendes because she was “bored” with him.

Oh what a difference a year makes.

Around this same time last year, actress Kate Winslet appeared to be on top of the world. The Oscar nominee was collecting an award for her role in The Reader while simultaneously being praised for her work in Revolutionary Road.

Today, it’s being announced that Kate and her husband - Road director Sam Mendes - have been apart since before her recent 82nd Annual Academy Awards appearance.
