George CarllinComedian , deceased at age 71, is gone but never forgotten. The funnyman’s memoir, Last Words, is scheduled to hit book stores in November 2009. According to reports, Carlin worked on the book for ten years prior to his June 2008 death.

Carlin worked on the book with writer Tony Hendra, and the tome will examine his amazing 50-year run in showbiz. To date, Carlin authored three New York Times bestsellers in his lifetime.

Michael Jackson’s Last Days Unmasked in New Book

“If you think you know everything there is to know about , you’re wrong.” These were the words of Jennifer Bergstrom, vice president of Simon Spotlight Entertainment. This is the company that’s behind Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson.

The man hasn’t been buried yet, and already there’s a new book on the way. Bergstrom’s comments continue, “Startling new information…will make this book the definitive biography of the most iconic performer of our time.”

You see, the publishing industry can’t afford to waste any time - many more authors are no doubt writing furiously this very moment. Author Ian Halperin is behind this particular book, which is scheduled for publication in July. This is surely only the start of an industry cavalcade that will include many more volumes about the life and times of the King of Pop.

Hugh HefnerWhile one would expect sexy details in a profile of , the interesting thing about Steven Watts’ new book is that most of his accounts are true.

To assist with Mr. Playboy: Hugh Hefner and the American Dream, star gave the author access to personal documents. As a result, the upcoming release is - in Hugh’s words - the “most authoritative book ever written” about him.

So what should curious readers come to expect from Mr. Playboy? The tales include an attempted wife-swapping with his Playboy co-founder, a sexual encounter with sister-in-law (with his brother’s permission), a “one-time homosexual experience” and a homemade porno. And that’s all probably in just Chapter One.

Well - if that proposed biopic ever gets off the ground, Robert Downey Jr. will probably have a lot of ground to cover!

Miley Cyrus Signs Book Deal

Miley: Million-dollar writer?Sick of yet? Disney sure isn’t.

Having already conquered the small screen and broken box office records for the big screen, the uber-successful pop star has recently signed a seven-figure deal with Disney-Hyperion, probably the most any fifteen year-old has been paid to write a book.

As if Disney hasn’t used and abused their cash cow enough, the book is set to release in 2009, right about when the movie will premiere. Oh how I love Disney’s avariciousness.
