Angelina Jolie Tops Oprah on Forbes Power List

Apparently I’m a Celebrity has devalued Spencer Pratt’s fame so much, he didn’t even rank in the Top 100.
After combining figures based on entertainment-related earnings and media popularity, there was a surprise shift in the Forbes annual power list. According to the magazine, Angelina Jolie now carries more weight than the reigning talk show queen.
Thanks to a high interest in her new twins, several blockbusters (Wanted, Kung Fu Panda) and her ongoing humanitarian work, Jolie has earned the top spot for 2009. Billionaire Oprah, last year’s #1, slid by only one spot despite a dip in her program’s ratings. Madonna, Beyonce, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Kobe Bryant round off the Top 10.

Parade: Celebrities Earn 115 Times More Than You

Parade magazine will soon release a “What People Earn” issue which details the income earned by Hollywood’s elite for the fiscal year of 2008, a year which was extremely rough on the finances of many average Americans.
The issue reports that Jennifer Aniston earned a hefty $27 million, which trumps the paltry $2.25 mill Britney Spears raked in during 2008. Taylor Swift out-earned Brit with $5.5 million, which still pales when compared to Beyonce’s stunning $80 million in earnings.
So who’s the biggest star of them all, the top earner for the year 2008? Is it Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Donald Trump? The winner, earning the most in the last calendar year, is Mattel with a whopping $3.3 billion. Barbie - still hot after all these years. Now, that’s star power.
According to the issue, celebrity salaries trump the average American’s yearly earnings by an extreme amount: the stars earn around 115 times more money than you do. Too bad about the recession - Barbie might’ve made it up to 4 billion on the year.

New Pictures of the Jolie-Pitt Twins

Just days after a double-loss at the SAG Awards, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did what they do best: leave town.
The entire Jolie-Pitt clan arrived at the Narita International Airport Tuesday for a Japanese Benjamin Button event. Although various family members - including the six-month-old twins - have been pictured in both People and W magazine, it’s the first time all seven were seen out in public at the same time.
Shortly after Knox and Vivienne were born, Brad said the newborns were following along gender lines. “Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality… And Knox, he’s a bit of me.” Now, based on the matching caps, father and son are also starting to dress alike.

“I don’t love being alone like I used to,” Angelina Jolie said to Today, referring to her now long-standing relationship with Hollywood hottie Brad Pitt. “I met the right person.”
With her love life nice and stable (apparently in spite of what the media says), with her new twins now a well-established three months of age and a hot new movie ready to debut, what could Jolie possibly add to the mix? …How about another kid? Sure, she’s only got six (and counting).

Angelina Jolie’s W Photo Spread

In the upcoming issue of W, the world will get a chance to see intimate portraits of Angelina Jolie taken from a unique perspective. For this photo shoot (which took place just weeks after Vivienne and Knox were born), the man behind the camera was someone the subjects knew quite well: Brad Pitt.
While much has been made of the breastfeeding mom on the cover, the pictures within the issue - especially the ones involving the older children - are equally as beautiful.

People Profits from Brangelina Cover

If you’ve lost any sleep wondering if People‘s pricey gamble paid off, you can now rest comfortably. The answer appears to be yes.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the issue devoted to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new twins was one of the magazine’s all-time best sellers. Here’s a quick look at the numbers:
- Approximately 2.6 million people paid for the opportunity to see Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon. People normally averages 1.5 million in weekly sales. (That number does not include the normal subscribers.)
- Although the issue has been on the shelves longer than normal, readers have had to pay $.50 more than normal to peruse the pictures.
- The website received 6 million unique visitors in a 24-hour period; it usually gets about 8.8 million a month.
- The spread was the 4th most-purchased in the magazine’s history. Only 9/11 and the deaths of Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy, Jr. sold more.
I guess some lucky charity will really benefit once Child #7 comes around…

If you happen to be a John McCain supporter - or if you’re for some reason undecided - whatever you do, don’t let Roseanne know.
This weekend, the actress/comedian used her blog to not only bash Jon Voight, but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt too.
While the Obama supporter had every right to express her opinions about Voight (especially since he wrote an Op-Ed piece blasting the Democratic candidate), her criticisms about Angelina and Brad seemed to come out of left field.

Brangelina Shoos Johnny Depp Out of France

When Johnny Depp ran to France to escape the paparazzi, I’m sure he never would have imagined having to leave his tranquil paradise. Unfortunately, the very private Pirates of the Caribbean star has come to face this nightmare upon Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s recent move to the beautiful country, which forced many of their die-hard paparazzo to follow suit.
Judging by recent pictures taken of the former heartthrob, I would say that it’s safe to say that he is upset at the large influx of cameras around southern France.
His solution? Pack up and move to England!

First Look at the Jolie-Pitt Twins

Here they finally are. The two babies that have quickly made us forget that Jennifer Lopez also had twins.
In the upcoming issues of People and Hello!, Brangelina watchers will be getting more than their money’s worth. The two magazines will be devoting 19 and 17 pages, respectively, to Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.
Although the newborns are only three weeks old, the two are already displaying their personalities. According to Brad, the babies are following along gender lines. “Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality… And Knox, he’s a bit of me.”
