Sarah Palin Thinks Newsweek is Sexist

Sarah Palin

Newsweek’s most recent cover shows a sexy former governor with long, bare legs - and Palin says it’s an “unfortunate” photo choice. She explains that the photo was originally taken for Runner’s World, an article that was “all about health and fitness” - a subject she says is “critically important to this nation.”

Newsweek re-used the photo with the headline “How Do You Solve a Problem like Sarah?” The one-time VP candidate spoke out against this choice via Facebook.

“When it comes to Sarah Palin, this ‘news’ magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant,” she wrote. “The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, gender or color of skin.” I assume this applies to Palin’s own book, Going Rogue, as well.

has a new MTV special, a new album and even a five-year plan for her future. Brit’s last plan (marry K-Fed, have a couple of kids, live happily ever after) didn’t quite work out. Maybe this one will.

“In five years, I would like to be married and have a father figure for my kids, someone who is a provider and can be really stable,” Spears offered up her opinions in the latest issue of magazine. Is this meant to be a direct dig at her kids’ actual father, K-Fed, or just a random future wish from Brit?

“It’s hard doing it on your own,” Spears added in her interview, in what would certainly seem to be a pointed remark in ’s direction.

But before you boys start lining up to become step daddy number one, you’d better learn about Britney’s new habits.

People Pays Brangelina $14 Million for Twin Pics

People and Hello! shell out $14 million for Brangelina's baby pics

After leaving Brangelina fans on the edge of their seats (myself included) for weeks without seeing their twins, the couple have decided that it is finally time to introduce them to the world.

Much to no one’s surprise, People magazine won the bidding rights to the twins’ photo shoot in the U.S. and Canada, and Hello! magazine won the international rights. Although there has been no official release as to the amount, sources have claimed the figure is around $14 million.

Compared to previous biddings on babies like their older sister Shiloh ($4 million) and Jennifer Lopez’s twins ($6 million), the Jolie-Pitt twins have definitely set a new record for costing a magazine so much.

Remembering Marilyn Monroe

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Music, Photos, Editorials

Lindsay Lohan on the Cover, Lindsay Lohan was the subject of a Marilyn Monroe-esque photo spread appearing in New York magazine. Lohan posed nude for Bert Stern, as did Monroe forty-six years ago.

Here’s the difference: was quite possibly the world’s biggest star at the time of her famed photo shoot. Posing nude was risqué, even potentially dangerous for her career. Monroe’s shoot appeared in Vogue, which in the 1960’s took a whole new approach to publishing by focusing on fashion and elements that spoke to the sexual revolution of the day. Blonde, gorgeous Marilyn Monroe was the perfect cover girl for sexual revolution.

Here’s : Gone from the movie industry for several months and with very few projects in the till, Lohan has to keep reminding everyone she’s a star. She’s got to get her career back on track - quick. Why not simply become a legend…or at least, look like one? By capitalizing on the stardom of Monroe, can Lohan find her own again?

I’m not splitting hairs, here. I mean, honestly I’m a Lindsay Lohan fan. But Lohan is not at all similar (in career, looks, love life or ability) to Monroe. What was incredible in the 60s is totally mundane today. Lohan does look great in the shoot…but can’t we get a little creativity from our so-called stars?

Share the Spotlight? Not Christina Aguilera

Christina AguileraThey shared the same delivery weekend, but no way will Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie share a magazine cover - not if Aguilera has anything to say about it.  Despite negotiations which took several weeks, Aguilera has nixed a deal with OK! Magazine for an issue which was supposed to contain photos of the diva and her new baby, Max. Because the magazine couldn’t guarantee a full-cover photo, Christina walked.

The decision not to give her the full cover, according to one “insider,” stems from the wedding photo spread the magazine previously did on Aguilera. The source says the issue didn’t sell as well as the magazine had hoped, proving she’s not a big seller when it comes to print media. Another source, who is supposed to be familiar with Christina’s magazine contracts, says Aguilera’s contract states no magazine running photos of Max may run photos of Richie and her new baby. “Christina can’t stand Nicole,” said one source.

OK! Magazine says they cannot comment on celebrity contracts.
