TLC has been offering tantalizing teasers, but unfortunately the cable network’s biggest reality secret has already been scooped…by everybody. Kate Gosselin reportedly filed for divorce from her co-star and ten-year husband, Jon, in Bucks County, PA on Monday.
Meanwhile, a “major announcement” will be revealed on the show this evening - if it hasn’t already been found out by the press, and current public opinion believes this is the case. Jon and Kate’s rocky relationship has made a multitude of headlines over the past few weeks, fueled by rumors of infidelity on both sides. The couple spoke openly about their marital troubles at the beginning of the season.
Which, it is believed, will be the show’s last. TLC can hardly keep showing us Jon and Kate Plus 8 when Jon and Kate are no more.

Marriage Over for Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford

Every once in a while there’s a divorce announcement that feels random and shocking at the same time. This is one of those for me.
After nearly 17 years of marriage, actors Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek are going their separate ways. The news was confirmed on Friday, the same day the papers were filed.
Jane and Bradley were frequently seen on the red carpet together during their years on two different shows. Whitford had been nominated three times for his role on The West Wing. (He won once). Meanwhile, Kaczmarek was nominated seven times for her comedic work on Malcolm in the Middle.
The couple have three children together: Frances Genevieve, 12, George Edward, 9, and Mary Louisa, 6.

Usher Officially Files for Divorce

I think it’s safe to say that 2009 has not been kind to Tameka Foster.
Back in February, Usher’s wife was hospitalized after a plastic surgery scare in Brazil. Now the mother is facing the end of her nearly two-year-old marriage.
Late this week, the R&B singer officially filed for divorce in Atlanta. This move comes after increased speculation about the state of their relationship. Although Foster, 38, was reportedly still referring to Usher as her husband, a source tells People that the two have been drifting apart for some time now.
Tameka and Usher, 30, have two sons together: Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months.

Sean and Robin Wright Penn Split Again

It may have only been two months since they appeared at the Academy Awards together, but the glow for Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn has already ended.
Late last week, the Milk star filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years. The moves comes approximately 16 months after Robin filed for divorce. Although he briefly dated model Petra Nemcova in 2008, Sean and Robin reunited several months later.
Penn, who listed “irreconcilable differences” as the cause, is seeking joint custody of their two kids: 18-year-old daughter Dylan and 15-year-old son Hopper Jack.

Mel Gibson’s Wife Files for Divorce

Maybe Mel Gibson and Britney Spears will have now have something new to bond over.
After 28 years of marriage, the Mad Max star’s wife, Robyn Moore, has filed for divorce. The papers were signed on April 9, just before the Easter weekend. According to People sources, Mel was overheard yesterday announcing the news to several parishioners of the church he had built.
Although Robyn had been seen with Gibson recently (she reportedly joined him for Palm Sunday services last weekend), friends say the two have actually been separated for three years. The 53-year-old’s infamous DUI arrest also happened three years ago on July 28.
TMZ claims the two were married without a prenuptial agreement. If that is the case, Robyn, 53, could receive 1/2 of their community property under California state law. As of 2006, her husband was reportedly worth $900 million.
Moore - whose attorney, Laura Wasser, assisted Britney Spears with her divorce - is currently seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 9-year-old son, Thomas. (They also have six other children who are no longer minors.) She is also requesting spousal support and legal fees.

Honeymoon’s Over for Kate Walsh and Hubby

After only 15 months of marriage, Kate Walsh‘s husband is calling it quits. Alex Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox, initiated the split citing the cliched “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. The filed court documents state November 22 as the official date of separation. (Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like divorce papers.)
The 41-year-old Private Practice star wed the film exec last September after a whirlwind courtship. The two met back in February 2007 and were quickly engaged three months later. It was at that same time people started questioning their relationship’s future.
According to a rep for both parties, the couple “remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

Quickie Divorce for Madonna and Guy Ritchie

What took 7 1/2 years to build ended in less than a minute.
Earlier today in a London court, a judge granted Madonna and Guy Ritchie a preliminary divorce decree. Assuming no issues come up, their marriage will officially be over in six weeks and a day.
This morning’s proceeding - which was not attended by either by either party or their lawyers - lasted approximately 54 seconds. Their case was sixth on a list that included 16 other couples.
According to the petition filed by Madonna, “unreasonable behavior” was cited as the reason for divorce. According to the Daily Telegraph, that is an option often used for “quickie” resolutions. The alternatives for divorce are “adultery, a five-year separation or for one partner to have deserted the other for at least two years.”
Although Guy could have walked away with a substantial portion of his ex’s fortune, the director has reportedly decided to settle for their estate in Wiltshire and a pub they own in the Mayfair area.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie Officially Divorcing

Although Madonna and Guy both denied their marriage was over, the couple just couldn’t hold out any longer. Today - approximately three months after the splitsville rumors began - the Ritchies announced they are calling it quits.
A joint statement released by their reps confirmed the ongoing divorce rumors:
“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time.”

Phil Collins’ Expensive Divorce Settlement

Earlier this year, singer Paul McCartney forked over approximately $45.37 million to get rid of his annoying ex-wife once and for all. While this seemed like a hefty sum (despite his large fortune), it turns out the Beatle walked away with a pretty good deal.
According to the Daily Mirror, Phil Collins has now reached the top of the divorce settlement leaderboard. The Genesis singer/drummer’s recent $46.68 million payout is the priciest check written by a British celeb ever. And, sadly, this isn’t the first time the musician has had to dig deep into his pockets.

Balthazar Getty Finally Acknowledges Marriage Problems

Now that everyone has seen him with his naked girlfriend, Balthazar Getty has taken the unnecessary step of addressing the media.
The Brothers & Sisters star has been the subject of gossip ever since he was linked to actress Sienna Miller. Getty, a married father of four, recently welcomed a new daughter just last October.
In a statement, the 33-year-old said:
“The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience especially when children are involved. In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further.”
That’s okay, Balthazar. As long as we have your pictures telling the story, we don’t need you to comment further.
