No Charges Yet for SYTYCD’s Da Silva

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Legal Issues

DescriptionDays after being arrested on investigation of sexual assault, choreographer Alex Da Silva was released from jail.

The 41-year-old contributor was taken into custody by police last Saturday as a result of several rape allegations. Four different victims had accused the dance instructor of assault between 2003 and 2009.

Although the complainants each reported similar stories, the Los Angeles County prosecutors office has not been able to file charges due to a lack of evidence. More women have since come forth with their own stories, so the investigation is not yet closed.

No word yet what this might mean - if anything - for the next season of SYTYCD. The FOX reality series starts up again on May 21.

Josh Holloway’s Robber Sentenced to Prison

Posted by Kathleen Kane Categories: Television, Legal Issues

Josh Holloway can finally rest assured that his terrorizer is behind barsShortly after celebrating last Thursday’s ratings alongside cast and crew, Lost star Josh Holloway had more to celebrate yesterday with the satisfaction of knowing that the man who robbed him is finally in jail.

Alongside his wife, the model-turned-actor who plays Sawyer on ABC’s hit series Lost was terrorized back in October of 2005 by 23 year-old Ruben Royce. Awoken from their bed in their Hawaiian home, Royce held both Holloway and his wife, Yessica, at gunpoint as he stole their cash, credit cards, and Mercedes-Benz.

Royce was convicted in court yesterday, ultimately sentenced to 13-30 years behind bars for this and similar crimes he committed the following three weeks.

Hopefully this will mark a new turning point for the cast members of the hit show, as most of them have been struck by misfortune (this, of course, includes Holloway’s robbery) ever since the series started.

Tatum O’Neal Thanks Police Who Arrested Her

Tatum thanks cops, blames dog's deathAfter spending Sunday night in jail following her arrest for purchasing crack and cocaine, former Dancing With the Stars contestant Tatum O’Neal was released from court yesterday. Shockingly, her first remarks were thank yous… to the police who arrested her!

Claiming sobriety, the New York City jail survivor gratefully thanked her law enforcers for keeping her that way: “Just when I was about to change that and wreck my life, the cops came and saved me! I was saved by the bell, by the guys in the Seventh Precinct.”

What I’m wondering was whether or not she was truly sober, thinking we would actually believe that she thanked those cops from the bottom of her heart. Then again, she may very well have been smart enough to learn from her fellow jailbird celebrities and look pretty good whilst being sprung from the can.

Nick Bollea Realizes Jail is Hard

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Legal Issues

Nick Bollea mug shotAfter serving just a mere few hours of his 8-month jail sentence, Nick Bollea (a.k.a. Nick Hogan) realized that incarceration was not entirely what he had expected. Apparently ‘s son didn’t think felony reckless driving was that serious a matter.

In this just released transcript, we learn how a tearful Nick dealt with his first day in the clink:

Nick Bollea:  “Had I known this, I would have rather gone to trial or I would rather, you know, appeal the case or something.  I can’t deal with this for eight months.  It’s (Bollea’s cell) like the size of my bathroom.”

Linda Bollea (Linda Hogan):  “Oh!”

Nick:  “No windows or nothing.  Just one little top bed thing.”

Linda:  “Oh my God!”

Nick:  “All you do is sit there and think, and there’s nothing to think about.”

Barron Hilton Lacks Paris’ Post-Jail Flair

After spending a long Tuesday afternoon in jail, finally had some pals bail him out.  (I wish I had three friends who could secure me a $20,000 bond.)  It seems the DUI offender was being served a dose of tough love from not only his parents but his recently incarcerated sister.

To make matters worse, the hotel heir - already deprived of family funds - made it quite known he was obviously lacking the signature Hilton flair.  One would have thought Barron had learned a trick or two from the day ‘Paris was liberated.’  Unfortunately, he was apparently asleep that night.  His grand exit yesterday was reduced to Trick #1 in the Walk of Shame Handbook:  “Put Coat Over Head.”

I must say - as much as I despite , she at least worked her jail departure.

Another Hilton Checks Into Jail

Put-Description-HereUPDATE: Barron’s bail was later increased to $20,000 because he was apparently carrying a fake driver’s license.  Idiot.

, younger brother to Paris and Nicky, continued the process of dragging the family name through the mud this morning by getting arrested in Malibu for DUI.

Per PageSix.com, Hilton 18, was arrested at 8:04 am after he allegedly careened into a 76 gas station and struck a gas station attendant in the process. The attendant was not injured but insisted on calling the police anyway.

“I was knocked to the ground,” Fernando Tellez told PageSix.  “The Mercedes lost control as it was turning into the gas station and Barron got out of the car and he was totally drunk and couldn’t walk straight.”

When the police arrived, they tested his blood alcohol level (which he failed miserably).  He scored a 0.14 on his breath test for blood alcohol — that’s almost double the adult limit of 0.08 in California. An eyewitness at the scene claims that Barron was so drunk he couldn’t speak.

Barron was then led away to jail where he now resides waiting for his bail to be posted-a paltry $5,000.

Gosh,  those crazy Hilton kids—you just never know where they’re gonna get arrested next!
