Britney Spears’ Expensive Sweet Tooth

Britney Spears spent $3,000 on candy in one afternoon.
The “Womanizer” singer splashed out the staggering sum at the Sugar Factory over the weekend. Spears visited the Las Vegas location inside the Mirage hotel with her sons 4-year-old Sean Preston and 3-year-old Jayden James - and boyfriend Jason Trawick.
“She spent about $3,000 and walked out of the store with 10 bags. She got a bunch of candy and shirts for her kids and got a bunch of the couture lollipops to give to her back-up dancers,” a source said.
Among the items Britney, who was in Las Vegas for the final US show of her Circus world tour, bought were a box of Sugar Factor milk chocolate and 25 $25 lollipops After paying for the items the store sent another $2,500-worth of candy to her room in the Mirage.

Gambling Girl Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis was thrilled to turn 21 because it meant she could gamble.
The baking buff and Sorority Row actress celebrated her landmark birthday on August 21 with a party in Las Vegas so she could lay down some bets.
She explained to website Dark Horizons, “It was wonderful. I got to gamble. I played blackjack my first night, and I won a little money, so that was really fun. But other than that, not really that much has changed.”
Rumer spent the evening at the city’s Tau restaurant and nightclub, where she was joined by 55 friends and family, including her parents Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
“To be in Vegas on your 21st birthday, could you ask for anything better? You get to be in the center of all the things that you get to try out when you’re 21.”
Engagement for DWTS’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff

To call these dancers “quick movers” would be an understatement.
Although they’ve only been together for less than six months, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are now officially engaged. The two Dancing with the Stars competitors - who have known each other for about 15 years - began dating shortly after Smirnoff, 30, ended her relationship with Mario Lopez last summer.
According to sources, Maksim, 28, popped the question to Karina on New Year’s Eve while they were celebrating in Las Vegas. The proposal happened in between stops of their DWTS tour. (Both dancers are expected to participate in the next season of the ABC show when it returns on March 9.)

Holly Madison Talks About Split from Hugh Hefner

Early last month, Holly Madison revealed through her MySpace page that she was in the process of moving out of the Playboy Mansion. Now the Girls Next Door star is opening up even more about her split from Hugh Hefner.
In an interview with Extra, the reality TV personality told fans of the show what most of us had suspected for a long time: she wasn’t really happy in her situation. “I’m just kind of sad about my breakup with Hef. I wish he would have seen it coming. Everybody was surprised when it happened because even though I was unhappy for a long time, the split happened suddenly… The signs were there. I was depressed for awhile, ” Madison claimed.
(Uhh, given her non-stop hints about kids and marriage…how could anyone really be shocked by her decision?)

O.J. Simpson Found Guilty

Exactly thirteen years after being acquitted of murder, O.J. Simpson heard the word “Guilty” twelve times over.
Late last night, the 61-year-old football star and his co-defendant, Clarence Stewart, were convicted for their involvement in a 2007 incident. Simpson, with the help of several armed men, robbed two sports-memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room. The Hall of Famer - who claimed he didn’t know guns were involved - claimed he was simply trying to reclaim what was his.
After thirteen hours of deliberation, the Nevada jurors found Simpson guilty on 12 counts including kidnapping and armed robbery. He could expect to receive anywhere between five years to life in prison at the December 5 sentencing.

It seems Nikki Cox has had a lot of free time since the end of Las Vegas. The recent picture on the right reveals what she’s been up to since dealing with regular employment.
The actress doesn’t even turn 30 until next month yet she apparently felt it was time to update her look anyway. Fortunately for Nikki, I don’t think her husband (Jay Mohr from Ghost Whisperer) frightens easily.

Singer Fergie Denies Pregnancy

Pregnancy rumors for Fergie have been coming non-stop ever since she became engaged last year. But recent pictures of her (like the one above) looking a bit puffier than normal really got the news hounds wondering. Could that bump be a baby bump?
Well according to the singer herself, no. In an interview with Extra, she explains why the media is so ready to believe the gossip is true: “I’m 5’4”, when I gain a couple of extra pounds—it shows. People just like to speculate.”
The singer goes on to say that she would actually like to get married to actor Josh Duhamel before anything like that happens. Marriage before pregnancy? Wow - that’s one I haven’t heard in a while!
