Blake Lively Inspired by Marilyn Monroe

Blake Lively pretends to be Marilyn Monroe on the red carpet.
The Gossip Girl star gets self-conscious at showbiz events and tries to channel the confidence of the Hollywood sex siren to survive the ordeal: "I have insecurities like any girl. I used to be really shy and unconfident. I hated being tall. Walking the red carpet is scary, so I pretend to be Marilyn Monroe - someone who owned their sexuality and projected this incredible aura of self-confidence."
Down-to-earth Blake, 24, prefers staying at home to attending parties and says she feels sexiest when she is cooking. "I really like to cook. Cooking makes me feel sexy. I think there's something so sensual about it - the smells, the touches, the flavors, the experience of creating something. And, you know, when you're doing it with someone you love, creating that together. I think it's really attractive. I do a little of everything but Italian food is my favorite. And chocolate! Whenever I travel I go to cooking schools. I eat too much that's the problem."

Lindsay Lohan Believes in Her Talent

Lindsay Lohan wants to be remembered for her talent, not her problems. The troubled actress - who has had several stints in rehab and a string of legal problems, most recently serving 35 days house arrest after breaching probation by stealing a necklace - insists she doesn't want to be a "celebrity" and believes people no longer view her as a "real person."
"People in their mind have created who I am and act as if there is no real person inside of me. Just like Marilyn. Marilyn never wanted to be just a celebrity. Neither do I. I had always thought that movie stars were in films that would last forever in your mind. But now the films don't. I don't want to be remembered as someone who just wanted to be photographed, who goes out at night, and gets in trouble. Heath Ledger once said to me, 'It's built you up to knock you down' and that's all it is. Marilyn said she had no foundation. But she said she was really working on it. I've been trying to do the same thing. I believe in myself and I'm a good actress," she said, comparing herself to late screen icon Marilyn Monroe.
Lindsay, 25, says she has always identified with Marilyn - who died in 1962 at the age of 36 - and says the blonde beauty inspired her to always want to appear strong and in control.

UPDATE: According to the coroner, Corey Haim died as result of natural causes.
Fans woke up Wednesday morning with the sad news that 1980s teen icon Corey Haim died during the night. Unfortunately, this headline is not uncommon…nor is the sad story that sums up the once-promising actor’s young life. Perhaps best known as Corey Feldman’s frequent co-star, Corey Haim was once one of the most popular stars in the country. During his heyday of The Lost Boys, License to Drive and Lucas, Haim captivated hearts - and casting directors - with his trademark smirk and level gaze. It’s too bad that, at the same time, substance abuse captivated him.

VIDEO: Old Marilyn Monroe Footage Sparks New Scandal

An unknown home-cameraman has decided to share a fifty-year old video of someone who very much appears to be late actress Marilyn Monroe. In the short film, she takes a few hits off what very much appears to be a joint (you know, marijuana). The video purports to have been shot in 1958 or 59.
Keya Morgan, a New York area collector, has purchased the film (for the bargain price of $275K). He’ll be selling it on eBay this week. The story first broke in the Huffington Post.

Price Climbing on Marilyn Monroe-Adjacent Vault

Richard Poncher’s former crypt is quickly becoming the most famous burial spot in the country…at least, it could well be the most expensive. You see, Poncher was formerly laid to rest just above the grave belonging to Marilyn Monroe. The crypt is located in Beverly Hills at the Westwood Village Memorial Park, specifically in the Corridor of Memories Mausoleum.
Poncher’s widow put the tomb on the market, ostensibly to earn money to pay a $1.6 million mortgage. The housing market being what it is, this was a genius idea. Property values on homes are falling, so just sell off an entirely different type of real estate.

Tony Curtis Claims Marilyn Monroe Miscarried His Child
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Movies, Hook-ups, Pregnancies, Rumors
While we uncover secrets in the wake of one icon’s shocking death, we are still uncovering mysteries regarding another icon, who passed away over 40 years ago. In a shocking revelation from his latest memoir (not so shocking), veteran actor Tony Curtis claims that not only did he have an affair with iconic actress Marilyn Monroe, but she miscarried his child.
Curtis asserts that the affair occurred when he was married to Psycho actress Janet Leigh and Monroe was wed to playwright Arthur Miller. Starting in 1950, he says that the couple were on and off, rekindling on the set of Some Like It Hot in 1958.
“When I was in bed with Marilyn I was never sure—before, during or after—where her mind was. She was an actress. She could play a part. She could give the part what she thought a man wanted. I never asked for more,” he writes.
According to him, the miscarriage took place shortly after Monroe’s husband, Miller, found out about the romance.
Tony’s memoir, The Making of Some Like It Hot, is due in stores this October.

Previously Unpublished Marilyn Monroe Photos Discovered
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Photos

A collection of rarely-seen, unpublished photos of a young Marilyn Monroe has been unearthed by Life magazine. Monroe, 24 at the time the pics were taken, was only on the brink of stardom when photographer Ed Clark captured her beauty for the cameras.
The 1950 shoot contains photos of a fresh-faced young starlet who, at the time, was innocent of Presidential affairs and the staggering lows of multiple divorces. Monroe, who died tragically at age 36, would have been 83 years old today.

Remembering Marilyn Monroe
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Music, Photos, Editorials
As reported earlier, Lindsay Lohan was the subject of a Marilyn Monroe-esque photo spread appearing in New York magazine. Lohan posed nude for Bert Stern, as did Monroe forty-six years ago.
Here’s the difference: Marilyn Monroe was quite possibly the world’s biggest star at the time of her famed photo shoot. Posing nude was risqué, even potentially dangerous for her career. Monroe’s shoot appeared in Vogue, which in the 1960’s took a whole new approach to publishing by focusing on fashion and elements that spoke to the sexual revolution of the day. Blonde, gorgeous Marilyn Monroe was the perfect cover girl for sexual revolution.
Here’s Lindsay Lohan: Gone from the movie industry for several months and with very few projects in the till, Lohan has to keep reminding everyone she’s a star. She’s got to get her career back on track - quick. Why not simply become a legend…or at least, look like one? By capitalizing on the stardom of Monroe, can Lohan find her own again?
I’m not splitting hairs, here. I mean, honestly I’m a Lindsay Lohan fan. But Lohan is not at all similar (in career, looks, love life or ability) to Monroe. What was incredible in the 60s is totally mundane today. Lohan does look great in the shoot…but can’t we get a little creativity from our so-called stars?

Lindsay Lohan’s Nude Photo Spread
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Drugs, Drunk, Photos

How do you get people to stop associating you with drugs? You get them to think of you nude.
In the next issue of New York magazine, recently-rehabbed Lindsay Lohan does her best to evoke Marilyn Monroe. The photo spread is practically identical to the one Monroe did back in 1962. That shoot - now known as “The Last Sitting” - took place just several weeks before the legend died…from an apparent drug overdose.
(Sorry, Linds - still thinking about you and drugs.)
Photographer Bert Stern, the same man who behind the camera forty-six years ago, said he wanted to work with Lohan because he believed she had “more depth to her”. Really?
