Pundits and political professionals have spent the last several months repeatedly asking the same question: is America ready to be led by someone who is outside the accepted status quo? In other words, could we have a non-white President? It’s been one of the hottest topics of the year, and it gave a lot of attention with the press. That is, until McCain pulled his trump card.

Otherwise known as Sarah Palin. Attractive, conservative, Yankee-ish and much, much younger than McCain, Palin has helped to change the feel of the entire campaign. Could she change the entire election? The media has been asking, for several months, if America is really ready to be led by a black man. Now, there’s another big question on the table. Is the world ready for the likes of - that self-styled bulldog-in-lipstick-hockey-mom who can’t keep her Yahoo business private and somehow found herself on the nation’s biggest political stage?

Not that it matters much, but doesn’t seem to think so.

Matt Damon Welcomes Another Daughter

Matt Damon and LucianaLooks like someone may need to take on another testosterone-laden project soon.

Today, and his wife, Luciana Barroso, welcomed Gia Zavala into their growing family. The baby girl, the second child for the couple, just became the third little lady in the female-dominated family. The couple already have a 2-year-old (Isabella) and a 10-year-old (Alexia) from Barroso’s previous marriage.

This special arrival coincidentally happened on the same day Jennifer Garner confirmed her 2nd pregnancy. Could Affleck and Damon be any closer?

Matt and Luciana, together since 2003, have been married for almost 3 years.

Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman Split Up

It looks as if has more than Matt Damon to worry about now.

After five years together, the late-night host and Sarah Silverman have called it quits. This announcement comes just months after the comedienne wrote a now-classic song for her boyfriend.

Reps for both stars confirmed the news to Vanity Fair in a joint statement. “Jimmy and Sarah have and will have no further comment.”

Sounds like someone could use a little back rub from Ben Affleck real soon.

Celebrity Baby Items Up for Auction

Julianne MooreIf you often envision your babies wearing something seen in Us Magazine, this upcoming auction might be right up your alley.

Next week, eBay will feature hand-me-down items from a list of Hollywood celebrities.  The gently-used pieces (at least, I hope they’re gently-used) are being donated in hopes of raising money for several children’s charities.  Organizations benefitting from the proceeds will include the March of Dimes and Save the Children.

Come April 29, interested parties can bid on one of ’s former messenger-style baby bags, a high chair of Julianne Moore’s and an Adidas track suit worn by Mariska Hargitay’s son.  Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Jeri Ryan are several of the other stars contributing to the cause.

Another Baby in the Works for Matt Damon and Wife

Matt Damon, LucianaIs this something Sarah Silverman should be notified about?

People is exclusively reporting that actor Matt Damon is the latest Ocean’s Eleven star on the baby bandwagon.  (Casey Affleck and his wife, Summer, recently had a son; Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also expecting again.) This will be the second child for Matt and his wife, Luciana.  Damon is also a stepfather to Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage.

Last year, star told Entertainment Weekly that being a new father (unexpectedly) helped him with his action role.  Director Paul Greengrass said his sleepless nights actually translated well on camera.

Now that a new Bourne installment is in the works, maybe they should get production started soon?  I mean Jason Bourne should really be tired of running by now, right?
