It’s time once again to congratulate those celebrities entering into parenthood:

Mel Gibson: The Edge of Darkness star has briefly taken the spotlight off of Jon Gosselin for today. Over the weekend, the 53-year-old and his musician girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, welcomed their first child together. Daughter Lucia is now Mel’s eighth child; he has one other girl and six boys from his recently-ended marriage. Oksana also has a 12-year-old son from a relationship with actor Timothy Dalton.

UPDATE: The actor’s rep now confirms the pregnancy.

Could this be why ‘s wife finally gave him the boot?

Although they had been separated for approximately three years, Robyn Moore, Gibson’s wife of 28 years, finally decided to file for divorce over a month ago. Now it looks as if Mel, already a father of seven, will become a dad once again.

According to reports, the 53-year-old’s new girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is pregnant with the actor’s eighth child. The singer, who shares a 12-year-old son with former beau Timothy Dalton, is rumored to be in her second trimester right now. TMZ says Gibson’s family has already been notified of the impending birth.

Mel is currently scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show this Monday, May 25th. Let’s see if he acknowledges the news then.

After 28 years with the same woman, apparently decided there was no time to waste.

Last night, the 53-year-old actor brought the new lady in his life to the LA premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The red carpet introduction occurred just over two weeks after his wife officially filed for divorce.

Gibson reportedly became close with Oksana Grigorieva during the production of last summer. (The 39-year-old singer, who is signed to Gibson’s Icon Records label, had been asked to write a song for the film.) According to Mel, he and his wife, Robyn Moore , had been separated for nearly two years by this point.

Although Oksana is relatively unknown in the tabloid world, Gibson isn’t the first actor she’s ever dated. The composer has a 12-year-old son with former 007 Timothy Dalton.

Mel Gibson’s Wife Files for Divorce

DescriptionMaybe Mel Gibson and Britney Spears will have now have something new to bond over.

After 28 years of marriage, the Mad Max star’s wife, Robyn Moore, has filed for divorce. The papers were signed on April 9, just before the Easter weekend. According to People sources, Mel was overheard yesterday announcing the news to several parishioners of the church he had built.

Although Robyn had been seen with Gibson recently (she reportedly joined him for Palm Sunday services last weekend), friends say the two have actually been separated for three years. The 53-year-old’s infamous DUI arrest also happened three years ago on July 28.

TMZ claims the two were married without a prenuptial agreement. If that is the case, Robyn, 53, could receive 1/2 of their community property under California state law. As of 2006, her husband was reportedly worth $900 million.

Moore - whose attorney, Laura Wasser, assisted Britney Spears with her divorce -  is currently seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 9-year-old son, Thomas. (They also have six other children who are no longer minors.) She is also requesting spousal support and legal fees.

Very much like Mel Gibson extended a helping hand to fallen pop star Britney Spears, sexy Sweeney Todd star Johnny Depp invited a troubled Lindsay Lohan to his Caribbean island! Tabloids could not be any happier.

Upon meeting her at the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday, Johnny welcomed the confused actress to his own private island, aptly named F*** Off Island. He and his longtime partner, Vanessa Paradis, travel there to escape the paparazzi (as I’m sure everyone remembers how Johnny has dealt with them in the past).

Why Was Britney Eating With Mel Gibson?

I don’t even think this is a scenario the best screenwriters could have ever imagined.

This past weekend, the Studio City area of Los Angeles was the location for quite an unusual gathering.  On Saturday, pop star had dinner with….Mel Gibson.  The stars - who both have ties to the Malibu area - dined amongst a larger group.

As for why the two were meeting, TMZ reports that their personal troubles may have given something to bond over.  Sources also claim that this is not the first time they’ve chatted.  The actor and his family apparently reached out to the troubled singer during her low points.  (Apparently they understand how fame can drive you to speak in random British accents or spit out anti-Semitic remarks.)


While it’s not known what the two were talking about on this particular occasion, we can report a bit of a good news:  Britney wasn’t driving.  The bad news?  She didn’t bother dressing up for the occasion. (She was still wearing those darn boots!)
