By the time this book is on the shelves, there’s no doubt that Mackenzie will be at the top of the New York Times bestseller list.

In the upcoming book, Mackenzie Phillips talks at great length about her incestuous relationship with her father, whom she says “wasn’t a monster.” According to his daughter, John Phillips “was a tortured man who led a tortured existence.”

Apparently I’m a Celebrity has devalued Spencer Pratt’s fame so much, he didn’t even rank in the Top 100.

After combining figures based on entertainment-related earnings and media popularity, there was a surprise shift in the Forbes annual power list. According to the magazine, now carries more weight than the reigning talk show queen.

Thanks to a high interest in her new twins, several blockbusters (Wanted, Kung Fu Panda) and her ongoing humanitarian work, Jolie has earned the top spot for 2009. Billionaire , last year’s #1, slid by only one spot despite a dip in her program’s ratings. Madonna, Beyonce, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Kobe Bryant round off the Top 10.

Anna Wintour told Oprah to drop 20 pounds before Vogue cover

Oprah Winfrey Vogue CoverAnna Wintour, the legendary editor of US style bible magazine Vogue is making it know that she made a “gentle suggestion” to prior to her front page photoshoot in 1998. According to Anna, it was just a gentle nudge: “I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. “I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper! She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet. And it was one of our most successful covers ever.”

Oprah, 55, was featured on on the cover of Vogue, which carried the tagline ‘Oprah! A Major Movie, An Amazing Makeover’ in reference to her new film Beloved and weight loss. Anna has also called for better education to help halt rising cases of obesity in America. The 59-year-old fashionista - who recently commissioned a detailed feature on the issue - told : “I’d just been on a trip to Minnesota, where I can only kindly describe most of the people I saw as little houses. There’s such an epidemic of obesity in the United States, and for some reason, everybody focuses on anorexia. We need to spend money time and education on teaching people to eat, exercise and take care of themselves in a healthier way. It provoked, which is really the point.”

Twitter users have been bracing for impact ever since news broke that Oprah Winfrey had joined and would publish her first tweet today, during a taping of her show. That initial message came through, revealing that Oprah wasn’t completely up to snuff on netiquette. Her initial post was an all-caps message, as she referred to her followers as “TWITTERS.” Now, Shaquille O’Neal has been on Twitter for quite a while, and has called out celebrities for using ghost writers and for other lacks of transparency on the service. When it came to Oprah, he had to call out her caps usage. Shaq is the man.

Salma Hayek No Longer Engaged

Just recently, Drew Barrymore and boyfriend Justin Long announced they had split after nearly a year together. This (fairly) surprising news came just months after the two looked all lovey on the daytime talk show. Now Salma Hayek, an Oprah Winfrey guest back in April, is experiencing relationship woes of her own.

Earlier this year, the Frida actress gabbed with the host about her new baby girl and her fiance Francois-Henri Pinault, a French billionaire. Although the couple had been engaged since March 2007, the two did not seem to be in any hurry to marry.

Salma told Winfrey, “After I got pregnant, I don’t know why, [but] the [ceremony] part of it is not necessary because we have such a huge commitment for each other. I don’t know that we have to go through the rituals.”

Now I realized this was going to happen some day, I just didn’t think it was going to happen so soon….

Back in February, I predicted Drew Barrymore’s seemingly perfect relationship with her most recent boyfriend would eventually crash and burn. Why? Because she made the mistake of going public with it. And now, after about a year of dating, Drew and Justin Long are already over.

Earlier this year in an interview with Vogue, the actress got all gushy when the subject of Justin came up. “My cheeks hurt, I’m so happy.” Then in March, Barrymore brought her beau to the set of when she was there for a guest appearance. Although Drew was scheduled to talk about her charity work, her new romance (of course) became part of the conversation. (You can see that clip after the jump.)

According to gossip, Cruise has a big chip on his shoulder because a medical marijuana facility is marketing a certain type of the drug as “Tom Cruise Purple,” even using his likeness to push the product. If the smoke gets people half as high as Cruise seemed when he jumped on Oprah’s couch, it’s sure to become a hit.
