While his soiled hair, uncouth mouth, and lack of manners made it quite clear that British comedian Russell Brand was a stranger to normal, monogamous relationships, it would seem as of late that his girlfriend Katy Perry is changing his view of the world.
“There have been times when I have been in the company of prostitutes and they were the most wonderful women in the world,” Brand said, reflecting on his past behavior.
Apparently, those times are behind him, and he’s ready to embrace the “I Kissed a Girl” popstar, which I honestly didn’t believe, despite their very public affection for each other.
“She’s lovely. I am living in a different way at the moment. Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with the calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years.”

Co-Star Had No Idea About Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin

So maybe True Blood‘s Ryan Kwanten not having a clue about co-stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin’s relationship wasn’t necessarily his fault. Turns out their other co-star, Sam Trammell, had not a clue, either!
In a post-Emmy party, Trammell, who plays the shapeshifter Sam Merlotte on the hit vampire show, revealed that he didn’t see it coming: “I think they’re both just really independent, really talented people, and they just kind of fit together… They’re so professional, I had no idea they were together at first. And then I had no idea he’d proposed to her.”
Don’t count on fiction meshing with reality here—Sam, whose character is in love with Anna’s Sookie despite her relationship with vampire Bill (Moyer), has nothing but good wishes for the newly-engaged: “They’ve been together a long time, and it’s working out. I’m happy for them.”

Victoria Beckham is being bribed to return to the UK by her husband David.
The soccer star is reportedly so desperate to leave Los Angeles and move back to England, he has promised the singer a luxurious fashion wing at their Hertfordshire mansion—nicknamed “Beckingham Palace.”
A source told Daily Star, “David is desperate to lure Victoria back to England. He’s very honest with her about his ambitions. These include his dream of being the most-capped player in the history of English football. To fulfill this fantasy he needs to play for England in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. But he knows his wife loves their new life in Hollywood.”

Hilary Swank’s Unexpected Romance

P.S. I Love You actress Hilary Swank wasn’t attracted to her boyfriend when she first met him.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is dating her former agent, John Campisi, admits that there was no initial “spark” between them because they were both dealing with heartache. Hilary—who was in the process of divorcing Chad Lowe when she started working with John in May 2006—explained to Hello!, “There was no spark. What’s interesting is, there was never anything. It wasn’t until we were well into the dissipation of our respective relationships. Going through something so difficult at the same time, we became very good friends. We became closer and closer. It was so unexpected. We both recognized that if we were going to take the relationship to the next step, we could no longer work together.”
Although the 35-year-old star says she has no plans to marry John, 41, in the near future, she hopes to start a family with him one day and enjoys spending time with his son Sam, from a previous relationship.
“Sam’s a sweetheart. I most definitely want children. It’s something I’d like to do someday. And when the timing is right I’ll hopefully know it.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal Feels For Jake

Loving mother and sister Maggie Gyllenhaal “feels sorry” for her brother.
The Dark Knight actress is saddened her younger sibling Jake Gyllenhaal is constantly followed by paparazzi and admits that his celebrity lifestyle has changed him as a person.
“Of course, everybody does change as they grow up, but I think it’s really hard for anybody who has to figure out a way to manage it. Like in Los Angeles, I don’t always know where to avoid going—sometimes you just walk right into a paparazzi nest. I get so angry, really upset. They chase him in their car and it’s just different for him. More than anything I feel sorry for him that he has to deal with that.”
Maggie, 31, and her family—actor husband Peter Sarsgaard and their two-year-old daughter Ramona—split their time between America and Britain to avoid the intrusion into their private lives.
She explained to Britain’s Marie Claire: “When Ramona was born, it was bad. We were living in the West Village in New York, where all the paparazzi are, and it got frenzied. They never bother us in London. We were at Wimbledon, walking around with sausages and champagne, and we thought, ‘We are so lucky we can do that—I don’t want to give it up.’”
Cheesy Lover Paul Bettany

English actor Paul Bettany can put the cigarette out, but is still addicted to cheese.
The Creation star’s wife Jennifer Connelly, who he raises two children with, says that although the actor has finally given up smoking, she has failed to dissuade him from taking his favorite dairy food everywhere.
She told Britain’s InStyle: “When we met he smoked a lot and ate a lot of cheese. He still eats a lot of cheese. It’s usually somewhere in his backpack. But he quit smoking. I don’t think it was my influence. Kids will do that to you. You want to stick around and see what happens with them.”
Although Jennifer—who has two sons, 12-year-old Kai from a previous relationship and Stellan, six, with Paul—insists she has little influence on her husband, she believes that he has made her less uptight: “I’ve gotten less introverted and earnest since Paul and I have been together. Paul tore me apart from my earnestness.”
Amy Winehouse Sneaks Ex-Husband Through Window
Looks like Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil are taking some cues from Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee.
The “Love Is A Losing Game” singer saw her ex-husband, whom she was officially divorced from last week, for the first time in 14 months for a secret date last Friday.
“Amy had been secretly planning this meeting, but told everyone she didn’t want to see Blake. The date went well. They had dinner and drinks and then—without anyone else knowing—she invited him back to her place early Saturday morning,” said a source.
In order for Amy, 25, to sneak Blake—banned by her family from seeing her—into her home, she had to send him through a window, so security wouldn’t raise the alarm (high school love story, anyone?).

Madonna Shows Brotherly Love

Madonna is making moves to reconcile with her brother.
The “Miles Away” singer fell out with Christopher Ciconne over a tell-all book he wrote about the star, which alleged her then husband Guy Ritchie was a homophobe and blamed him for the breakdown of his relationship with his sister.
Madonna was outraged with the publication of Life With My Sister Madonna last year, but is now making steps toward speaking with her brother again—and has sent him tentative emails.
“Madonna did it more for her family than for herself. Her feud with Chris was creating huge tension within the family so she decided to be the bigger person. At one point Madonna wanted all the family to cut off Chris, but her father wasn’t willing. It’s been a nightmare ever since. She’s calmed down about the book and had time to think. She realizes blood is thicker than water and has said she will meet with him this year in LA,” a source told Britain’s Sunday Mirror.
